How I Manifested My Husband

A friend asked if I manifested my relationship with my husband, Alex. I believe I did. Previous relationships and “situationships” left me confused and doubting myself. Those experiences helped me be clear about what I wanted to attract. I prayed for clarity about what I truly wanted so I could manifest it, and I asked God for discernment and the courage to walk away if it wasn’t aligned.

Relationship Goals

I reflected on what I didn’t like about past relationships (e.g., hypercritical, not reciprocal, confusing) and then focused on what I did want (e.g., kind, supportive, consistent). Feeling the pain of past hurt, I wanted to learn from my mistakes and love myself enough not to settle. Before attracting the right person, I needed to build my confidence and believe I was worthy. I also had to be true to myself and the type of person I wanted to attract. It was important for that person to be a man of God, transparent about what they wanted, and to share common values. Someone kind, honest, supportive, and ambitious, and with whom I could grow.

I looked at couples who were role models for the type of relationship I wanted to manifest. What made their marriage relationship goals? Respect, kindness, and friendship were some common themes.

Working on Myself

During singlehood, I worked on myself and studied Relationships 101. I enjoyed life, doing fun things like hiking, going to the gym, taking philosophy classes, and hanging out with friends. In 2017, shortly after I attended a personal development seminar in Vancouver, I reconnected with Alex at a funeral (21 years after our first meeting at a wedding). I didn’t expect that soon after, we would begin a long-distance relationship. We celebrated our fourth wedding anniversary in August.

In addition to embodying the attributes I sought in a partner, Alex is consistent, and his actions match his words. He is my biggest supporter and a catalyst for my continued growth, and I hope he can say the same about me. By focusing on what I wanted, through clarity and prayer, I believe I manifested my husband and my relationship goals.
