When Anxiety Becomes an Issue

Having some anxiety is a normal stress response. As I wrote in a previous post, A Monument for the Anxious and Hopeful, feeling anxious often reflects something that hasn't happened yet and reveals our general outlook on life. It helps if you can calm yourself, but if you're afraid of something going wrong or focus on the worst, you might imagine how this increases anxiety.

Wedding Planning During a Pandemic

My fiance and I finally set our wedding date. We hadn’t gotten very far in the planning process when news of the pandemic hit. With our late summer wedding now only five months away, it doesn’t leave much time to plan (though I think its doable). In light of what’s going on in the world, however, it feels weird to plan a wedding right now.

A Monument for the Anxious and Hopeful

A couple of weeks ago, I took a spontaneous trip to the Rubin Museum. I had a couple of hours to kill before a lunch meeting in the Chelsea area. I looked online for things to do in the neighborhood and decided to get some culture while I waited.
